"Roam like at home" does not reach Morocco: the EU rules stop at Europe's borders. A few plans still include Morocco, most do not. Here is how to tell which case you are in, and what the alternatives cost.
Plans that include Morocco
The clearest example we have verified: Free Mobile's Max plan (29.99 € a month, or 19.99 € with a Freebox) has included Morocco data at no extra cost since March 2026 (read 27 August 2026). If you are on it, you probably need nothing else; check the fair-use conditions in your Free account before you travel.
Some other carriers include selected non-EU countries in premium plans. The only reliable way to know is your carrier's own roaming page for Morocco.
Plans that do not include Morocco
Without an inclusion or a pass, data is billed per megabyte, and the rates are steep. Examples published by the carriers themselves:
- Orange France: 13.31 € per MB; Bouygues Telecom: 10.24 € per MB (read 27 August 2026).
- Movistar: 12.10 € per MB (read 27 August 2026).
- EE (UK): £8 per 24 hours, or £40 for 7 days; T-Mobile (US): passes from $5 a day for 512 MB (read 22 September 2026).
How to check your plan in two minutes
- Open your carrier's app or account and find the roaming or international section.
- Select Morocco and read three things: is data included, is there a pass, and what is the rate without one.
- If Morocco is not included and you do not buy a pass, turn data roaming off before landing.
The alternatives
