If you are an Orange France customer heading to Morocco, the first thing to know is that Morocco is outside the EU roaming zone. Your plan's European data does not apply there. Here is what Orange actually charges, read on Orange's own site on 27 August 2026.
Without a pass: billed per megabyte
- Data: 13.31 € per MB out of bundle. That is more than 13,000 € per gigabyte.
- Calls to France: 1.18 € per minute.
- SMS: 0.28 € each.
At that rate, leaving mobile data on without a pass is the single most expensive mistake a traveller can make. Turn data roaming off before landing, or buy a pass.

Passes are a volume that runs out: once used, you are back to per-megabyte rates unless you buy another. Check the validity period and conditions in your Orange account before you leave, as they can change.
Compared with a Morocco eSIM
Our plans are sold by days: €6 for 1 day, €24 for 7 days, €45 for 15 days, with 1 GB a day at full 4G/5G speed, then 512 Kbps until the daily reset, no total cap.
- If you are an Orange or Sosh customer, the Pass Maroc is cheaper than our plans: 35 GB for 14.99 € over 10 days, against €24 for our 7-day plan and €32 for 10 days. If 35 GB is enough, take it.
- A Morocco eSIM makes sense if your carrier is not Orange, if your trip is longer than the pass, or if you want a connection that never runs out: 1 GB a day at full speed, then 512 Kbps, with hotspot included.
- Your Orange number keeps working either way: with an eSIM, keep your Orange SIM for calls and SMS and turn its data roaming off.
Our advice
Whatever you choose, never leave Orange data roaming on without a pass. If you only need a little data, a pass is fine. If you want to stop counting, a local eSIM with a daily allowance is simpler.
