If you are flying to Marrakech with a UK phone plan, the first thing to know is that Morocco is not in any UK network's cheap roaming zone. It is not in Europe, so it is not covered by the European roaming add-ons, and every network puts it in one of its more expensive worldwide bands.
We checked what EE, Vodafone and Three charge to use your phone in Morocco, on each network's own website on 22 September 2026, and compared it with a Morocco eSIM. O2 is covered below too, with one honest caveat.
The short answer
- EE: Morocco is in EE's Zone 2. A 24-hour pass costs £8, a 7-day pass £40.
- Vodafone: Morocco is in Zone D. Roaming costs £8 a day on plans that started on or after 11 August 2021, and £6 a day on older plans.
- Three: the daily roaming charge is £8 if you joined or upgraded on or after 18 December 2025, and £7 if you joined between October 2021 and that date.
- A Morocco eSIM from us costs €24 for 7 days, about £20.59 at the European Central Bank rate of 21 September 2026.

The EE 15-day figure uses two 7-day passes plus one 24-hour pass, the cheapest combination of EE's own passes. The daily-fee networks simply multiply their fee by the number of days you use your phone.
On a one-week trip, a Morocco eSIM saves roughly £19 against EE's weekly pass and £28 to £35 against Vodafone or Three. Over two weeks, the gap grows to roughly £50 to £80.
What you get for the roaming fee, and what you do not
To be fair to the networks, a roaming pass is not the same product as a data eSIM. With EE, Vodafone and Three, the daily or weekly fee lets you use your UK allowances in Morocco: calls, texts and data, on your own number. Each network applies its own limits: Vodafone caps roaming data at 25 GB under its fair-use policy, and Three at 12 GB.
Our eSIM is data only. It does not give you a Moroccan number, and it does not carry your UK number. In practice that matters less than it sounds:
- Your UK SIM stays in the phone. Keep it switched on for calls and texts if you need them, with data roaming turned off on the UK line.
- WhatsApp, FaceTime and other calling apps run over the eSIM's data, so most calls home cost nothing extra.
- Be careful with the UK line itself: on a daily-fee network, using it in Morocco, even to answer a call, can trigger the day's roaming fee. Check your network's rules before you travel.
O2: the one number we could not confirm
O2's own page states that its O2 Travel Bolt On costs £7 a day "in selected destinations" for Pay Monthly customers travelling outside the O2 Travel Inclusive Zone. Whether Morocco is one of those destinations, and what applies if it is not, is shown only in O2's interactive travel search, which we could not read in a verifiable way. Rather than quote a figure we have not seen on O2's site, we suggest you search "Morocco" in O2's own travel tool before you go. If it is £7 a day, a week comes to £49, still more than twice the price of a 7-day eSIM.

- Install it at home on Wi-Fi. Label it "Morocco" and your UK line "UK".
- Set the Morocco eSIM as your mobile data line, and turn data roaming off on the UK line.
- When you land, turn on mobile data. The plan starts then.

If the connection does not come up when you land
In the vast majority of cases, the eSIM connects by itself within minutes of landing. If it does not, these steps, in this order, fix almost every case:
- Check the data line. In settings, mobile data must be switched on for the eSIM line, not for your home line.
- Turn on data roaming for the eSIM line if your phone asks for it: it is a phone setting and costs nothing on the eSIM.
- Turn off the airport Wi-Fi to force the phone onto the eSIM and genuinely test the connection.
- Switch airplane mode on for thirty seconds, then off again.
- Manually select an available Moroccan network in your network settings if automatic selection is slow.
- Restart the phone.
