Most phones bought in Europe work in Morocco without a second thought. Phones bought for other markets, some refurbished models and older handsets can be missing a band, and that is when you get "no service" or a stubborn 3G. Here is what Morocco uses and how to check your phone.
The 4G bands used in Morocco

Morocco has three mobile operators: Maroc Telecom (IAM), Orange Maroc and inwi. Band 3 carries most of the 4G capacity in cities, and band 20 (800 MHz) reaches furthest into the countryside and indoors. A phone with bands 3 and 20 will get 4G in most places; band 7 adds capacity in busy areas.
5G in Morocco
All three operators launched commercial 5G on 7 November 2025, starting in the major cities, using 700 MHz and the 3.4–3.8 GHz range (band n78). You need a 5G phone (iPhone 12 or later on the Apple side) and to be in a covered area. Everywhere else your phone uses 4G.
How to check your phone
- Find your exact model number: on iPhone, Settings → General → About → Model Number (tap it to see the "A" number); on Android, Settings → About phone.
- Look up that model number on the manufacturer's specification page and find the "LTE bands" line.
- Check that bands 3, 7 and 20 are listed. If you want 5G, check for n78.
Regional variants matter: two phones with the same name can support different bands. Always check the model number, not just the name.
Bands are not the only requirement for an eSIM
- eSIM support: iPhone XS/XR and later, Galaxy S20 and later (except US carrier-locked models and some FE variants), Pixel 3 and later.
- Unlocked phone: a phone locked to a carrier may refuse an eSIM from another network.
How our eSIM uses the networks

Each plan gives 1 GB a day at full 4G/5G speed, then 512 Kbps until the daily reset. If the signal is weak, toggle airplane mode for thirty seconds, or pick another Moroccan network in manual network selection.
