November is one of the best months to see Morocco. The summer heat has gone, days stay mild and sunny in the south, and the end-of-year holidays have not started yet. Here is what ten years of weather data say, city by city, and how to make the most of it.
November weather, city by city
| City | Average high | Average low | Rainy days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marrakech | 24 °C | 10 °C | 4 |
| Agadir | 24 °C | 15 °C | 3 |
| Essaouira | 22 °C | 14 °C | 4 |
| Fes | 22 °C | 10 °C | 7 |
| Chefchaouen | 18 °C | 9 °C | 9 |
| Merzouga | 23 °C | 10 °C | 1 |
Three things stand out:
- The south is mild and dry. Marrakech averages 24 °C in the afternoon and 10 °C at night, with about 4 rainy days in the month. The desert, around Merzouga, is the driest: one rainy day on average.
- The Atlantic coast keeps warm nights. In Agadir the night rarely drops below 15 °C on average: it is November's beach destination.
- The north is wetter. Chefchaouen sees nearly 9 rainy days and Fes about 7. Pack a waterproof jacket if your route goes through the Rif or the imperial cities.
Where to go in November
- Marrakech: pleasant on foot all day. Late in the month, the Marrakech International Film Festival runs from 20 to 28 November 2026; see our festival guide.
- The desert: November is a very good time for Merzouga or Zagora. Afternoons are warm, nights in camp are cold: bring a real warm layer.
- Agadir and Essaouira: sunshine, mild temperatures and the start of the surf season.
- The Atlas: valley hikes are still fine; higher up, the first snow can appear on the peaks.
What to pack
- Light clothes for the day and a fleece or light down jacket for the evening, especially for the desert and the Atlas.
- A waterproof jacket if you are heading north.
- Closed shoes for the medinas and dirt tracks.
- A charger and a power bank: days get shorter, and you will lean on your phone for maps and photos late in the day.
Staying connected in November
A November trip often lasts a week to ten days, with a stop in the desert or on the coast. Signal is good in the cities and along the main roads; it gets patchy in the valleys and deep in the dunes. Download offline maps before you leave, and pick a plan that matches the trip: 7 days at €24, 10 days at €32, 15 days at €45, with 1 GB a day at full speed then 512 Kbps and hotspot included.
