Here is exactly how eSIM Maroc plans work, with no fine print: you get 1 GB per day at full 4G/5G speed. After that, your speed is reduced to 512 Kbps for the rest of that 24-hour period, and then the full-speed allowance resets. You are never disconnected, never charged extra, and there is no total cap across the life of the plan.
We publish this because most travellers only discover it on day three of a trip, halfway through a Netflix episode.
Why "unlimited" is a misleading word in travel eSIMs
Travel eSIM providers buy wholesale capacity from network aggregators. Those aggregators sell tiers, and almost every tier described to the end customer as "unlimited" is actually a daily full-speed allowance with a reduced speed afterwards. The differences between providers are the size of the daily allowance and how slow the reduced speed is.
The word "unlimited" is technically defensible — you cannot run out of data and get cut off — but it is not what most people picture. A more accurate phrase would be unlimited by duration, not by volume: you buy days, not gigabytes.

What still works at 512 Kbps
512 Kbps sounds alarming if you think of it as "slow internet". In practice it is roughly the speed of a good 3G connection, and the things travellers actually need mostly work fine.

Is 1 GB a day actually enough?
For most trips, comfortably. A day of navigation, messaging, browsing and a moderate amount of social media usually lands well under 1 GB. The travellers who hit the limit are the ones streaming video, uploading large photo and video batches, or using the eSIM as a laptop's main connection for work.
Two practical habits stretch it a long way: download your Google Maps area for offline use before you leave the hotel Wi-Fi, and set video apps to standard rather than high definition.
How to check what you have used
Your phone tracks it for you. On iPhone, go to Settings → Mobile Data and look at the usage figure under the eSIM Maroc line. On Android, it is under Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → your eSIM → App data usage. Reset the counter when your plan starts and you will always know where you stand.
